How to Contribute

Join us and collaborate!

We do not want to overwhelm you with an exhaustive list of technical or typographical requirements for the texts you submit. Therefore, we simply ask that texts be sent in Word or PDF format, accompanied by any images you deem appropriate to complement them. We recommend a maximum length of 3,500 words, although exceptions can be considered if the interest of the text warrants it.

The subject matter, however, must focus on the city of Madrid and its Autonomous Community, without restrictions of any kind. Texts may cover aspects of its history, art, traditions, historical-artistic heritage, folklore, legends, etc.

The bibliography used must always be attached, and the source of any photos or illustrations accompanying the text must be indicated. Only original articles that have not been previously published will be accepted, unless an express agreement is made on this point.

As you can surely imagine, under no circumstances will texts be accepted that could imply any kind of apology for discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, culture, idiosyncrasy, etc. For the same reason, any texts intended to carry out any form of proselytization or propaganda in favor of any ideology—be it political, religious, or philosophical—will be rejected, as well as any type of attack or criticism directed towards them.

The articles or short essays you contribute to LA GATERA DE LA VILLA do not imply the granting or transfer of exclusive ownership to us. Therefore, once published on this blog or in our magazine, authors are free to use their texts for publication in any media they see fit.

Financial Terms

As this is a free magazine that receives no income from advertising or grants, all collaborations are ad honorem.
